Providing Support for Researchers Applying for CIHR Funding

Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) grant applications are a tall order for any health-related academic researcher to complete.

They require extreme attention to detail, ensuring that no element of an application is left out and that every aspect is thoroughly and responsibly given its rightful attention. CIHR grants are highly competitive, requiring excellent writing that strictly adheres to the application's elements. A lack of careful attention to a CIHR grant opportunity can stop a researcher's chances of being granted funding before the adjudicators get through the whole document.

One truth I know is that researchers have extreme talents in their work or area of specialization, but they're not necessarily great writers, and that is OK! It's their job to focus on their research and area of specialization, not become masters of the written word, but rather masters of their area of research specialization.

This is where I come in.

As a grant writer, working on CIHR applications on behalf of talented researchers are my greatest challenge, but also my greatest reward when we see it all come together. Producing a strong grant application gives the researcher confidence in their submission.

Through Words for Impact, I offer research academics the support they need to get through the grueling and challenging process of creating a CIHR grant application that is difficult for reviewers to pass up.

I don't only bring my collaborators my strong writing skills. I also ask them the tough questions, compassionately yet critically poke holes in their process, research questions, and methodology, and suggest what they should, or shouldn't, include in their CIHR grant application. I understand research, and I also understand how critical grant reviewers can be.

If you are an academic researcher struggling to get a CIHR grant application or any grant application off the ground, give me a shout and let me help you.

I have a history of working with research-intensive universities in Canada and the talented researchers within them. I offer skills, knowledge, and a compassionate and nurturing nature to give researchers confidence in their submissions.

Let me help you take the pressure off. It's what Words for Impact was designed to do.
